Making Pictures was a collaborative group exhibition featuring myself and four other Hunter-based photomedia artists: James Rhodes, Peta Lumley, Aidan Gageler and the late Liz O'Brien. All five of us were drawn to each other's work based on our mutual appreciation for, and individual practices, working across traditional and contemporary photographic processes. The exhibition was a culmination of nearly 2 years of planning, disrupted - of course - by lockdowns and various COVID-related factors.
The show was also my graduate project for my final year of Bachelor of Creative Industries. To this end, I was responsible for most logistical aspects of organising the show and associated opening event, as well as creating all promotional materials and marketing strategies. Installation was co-curated and installed by myself and James Rhodes.
The exhibition took place at The Creator Incubator, Newcastle, from 3 - 13 February, 2022.
Works from this series have been exhibited at The Lock-Up, The Creator Incubator, Blackstone Gallery and Newcastle Art Space.
